Opportunity for free publicity at IMTS!

05/29/2012

Are you part of the reshoring trend, using Agie Charmilles machines to produce parts or tools that had been lost to offshore factories?  If so, we would like to hear what you have brought back: either your own branded products or as a contract manufacturer.

We are seeking cases that we can post at IMTS and on our and your websites.  If you have such a case, please email Gisbert Ledvon with a few details and we will contact you soon for more information.  It is not necessary to identify your customer.

GF AgieCharmilles is a leading sponsor of the Reshoring Initiative which is coordinating this effort for IMTS.  The Initiative, founded and led by our former president, Harry Moser, has had substantial success encouraging larger companies to reshore. Your examples will help accelerate the trend!

This is your opportunity for free publicity at IMTS!

Document and submit cases of reshoring (bringing back the manufacture of specific parts or products that had been offshored) and your company will have the opportunity to appear on IMTStv, IMTS.com and ReshoreNow.org. A select number of participants will also be highlighted during the IMTS press conference and presentations on the “Main Stage” on Monday, Thursday and Friday mornings.

The Manufacturing Technology Drives Reshoring program, provided by AMT and the Reshoring Initiative, is an opportunity for your company to document and promote how your technology helps make customers globally competitive while accelerating the revitalization of the domestic economy.

Participation is simple.

  1. Register online at the Reshoring Initiative website: www.reshorenow.org/resources/cases.
  2. Start identifying OEM or contract manufacturer reshoring cases involving your technology. Ask your sales force, applications engineers and customers.
  3. Submit your reshoring reshoring cases online no later than August 15. (Please note: A flexible fill-in-the-blanks Reshoring Template for documenting and reporting each case will be available on the Reshoring Initiative website beginning June 1. By registering as indicated in item #1, you will automatically be emailed the link when it is available.)
  4. Display your samples and post on your monitors in your IMTS booth.

The best cases will be mentioned during the IMTS press conference on Monday, September 10 and included in three morning presentations to the crowds waiting to enter the North and South Halls on Monday, Thursday and Friday.

All cases of reshoring submitted on the Reshoring Initiative website will also be included in the Initiative’s searchable database where customers and media can find cases relevant to their industry or locale.

The broader, long-term concept is to have hundreds of consistently formatted reshoring cases posted on multiple sites. Customers will see the strength of the reshoring trend and decide to reevaluate their offshoring decisions. Help drive this effort and publicize the competitiveness of your technology!
